High Load Performance Resin Anchor
Data Sheet is based on an M20x200mm long Abbsert with an embedment depth of 200mm in a hole 36mm diameter.

Available from M10 up to M30 (dimensions are the internal thread)

Application
Installation of surface mounted posts for Safety fences, Environmental Barriers and similar installations.

Applications where the ultimate design load does not
exceed 125 kN.

Description
The Abbsert used in conjunction with Abbfix resin anchor grout has been tested by a NAMAS accredited laboratory and the copy of results of testing to BS 5080 part 1 are available as evidence of test results.

Designed to meet a serviceable life of not less than 20 years. The Abbsert is a unique design solely marketed by Abbot Fixings Systems Ltd and covered by a patent.

The Abbsert is made from stainless steel (grade 316 to BS 970 Part 1), and comes complete with a 20mm stainless steel hexagon set bolt (grade A4/80 to BS 6105), and a stainless steel washer (grade 316 to BS 1449 Part 2). Abbserts are installed into the concrete so that each socket is flush with the concrete surface. The post baseplate unit is then secured with hexagon headed bolts. Abbserts are designed for applications where a removable fixing head is required and because of the short length of drilled hole, Bridgedeck waterproofing systems are protected and the sealing of voids in the anchorage's is a result of using the Abbfix resin system.

The internal thread length of the Abbsert is 60mm, this allows for the adjustment of the hexagon set bolt. Base plates with a bedding mortar gap of 10-25mm can be fixed with the standard fixing . On request longer hexagon set bolts can be fitted prior to delivery and Galvanised packing washers supplied as accessories if required. Other accessories in the form of Nylon 6.6 tophat washers are available as insulators between the stainless and galvanised components.

Special long anchors can be made to meet below ground applications.

Fixing Procedure
Drilling 36mm x 200mm
Drilling should be carried out by using rotary percussive equipment. If diamond drilling is required where steel reinforcement is present, then the hole must be under-reamed or roughened.

Cleaning of Holes
All holes should be clear of dust and debris, by using a compressed air lance or blow-out bulb in addition to wire brushing.

Mixing of Resin
The ABBSERT should be used in conjunction with ABBFIX Resin Anchor Grout, mixed according to the instructions on the pack.

Installation
To ensure complete encapsulation, it is recommended that the resin is poured into the hole prior to the installation of the ABBSERT. Push the ABBSERT down into the resin with a twisting action.
